Blocks 13 and 14

Here are blocks 13 and 14. The gold and purple is 13, called Buckwheat. And 14 is Butterfly. I paper pieced both of these because of odd sized pieces. Moving along slow but sure!

Blocks 11 and 12

I made 2 more blocks last night. Take a look at the blue and gold one, Broken Dishes. See the smaller block underneath? Guess who measured the templates wrong? Isn't it cute though? After I realized it was too small, I kept going. I think I'll make a needlebook out of it or something like that. The other block is Broken Sugar Bowl. These blocks are really coming out nicely. Not sure if I'll get to sew tonight or not. I was having hot flashes last night, so I headed downstairs in the cool and decided to sew for a while.

Farmer's Wife Blocks 1 - 10

I made 10 Farmer's Wife blocks yesterday! Bill and Jake were golfing, Brenna was at work, so I headed downstairs and started sewing. Thanks to my friend Joan for printing the templates for me (my printer is on the fritz and I don't have EQ anymore) and also for the Kaye England class and her wonderful rulers, they all went together smoothly! So, here they all are!

I didn't make the knot a different color and may redo this one. It looks sort of blah. Well, there's the first 10. Till next time....................

The Farmer's Wife Quilt

I've just joined a Flick group that's making The Farmer's Wife Quilt. I haven't started yet, but will soon. There are 111 different blocks in the quilt and some of them are more difficult than others. Our guild is having Laurie Aaron Hird visit us in October. I've always admired this quilt and have wanted to make it. Two of my friends, Joan and Diane from our guild, are also making this and I really need to catch up. The flicker group usually makes 2 blocks a week. I should be able to handle that. I'll post my progress here.

Prom 2011

This is Jake and Myranda at prom this year. Lovely couple, eh? I've been neglecting this blog, but decided I need to get back at it.
